Editorial Policy

Our Editorial Philosophy

Wellness Newspaper exists because most wellness content online is either generic filler or thinly-disguised advertising. We built this site around a different standard: real editors with real expertise, real sourcing, and real opinions — writing content that could only have come from them, not from a template.

This page explains how we actually produce that content.

How Our Content Is Written

Every article has a named, accountable author. We don’t publish anonymous or “staff”-bylined content. Each of our five editorial pillars is led by a dedicated editor with relevant background in that field, and their name is on everything they publish.

Facts are sourced; opinions are labeled as opinions. When we cite a statistic, a study, or an expert recommendation, we name the source — the study, the organization, or the person — rather than making vague, unattributable claims like “studies show” or “experts agree.” When an editor shares a personal take, preference, or experience, it’s written and framed as their own perspective, not dressed up as universal fact. We believe readers deserve to know which is which.

Our writers have genuine points of view. We don’t publish flat, opinion-free explainer content that reads the same as every other wellness site. Our editors bring their own training, clinical background, or lived experience to what they write — and it shows in the writing, not just in a bio blurb.

Content is written by our editorial team, not generated wholesale by AI. We use standard editorial and research tools in our workflow, the same as most modern publications, but every article reflects genuine editorial judgment, real sourcing work, and a real author’s voice — not unedited machine output.

Our Editors

Wellness Newspaper is organized into five editorial pillars, each with a dedicated editor:

  • Marcus Reyes — Active Fit Lifestyle
  • Priya Anand — Nourishing Nutrition
  • Dr. Elena Marsh — Mental & Emotional Wellbeing
  • Tobias “Toby” Okafor — Wellness Insights & Expert Tips
  • Dr. Renata Silva — Community & Preventive Care

Full bios for each editor, including their background and expertise, are available on their individual author pages throughout the site.

Sponsored Content & Advertising Disclosure

Wellness Newspaper participates in affiliate programs and may accept sponsored content or advertising partnerships. We hold these to a clear standard:

  • All sponsored or affiliate content is clearly labeled as such. We follow FTC disclosure guidelines — you will always be able to tell when a piece is sponsored or contains affiliate links.
  • Advertising relationships never determine editorial opinions. Our editors write their honest assessment of any product they cover, whether or not it’s part of a paid partnership. If a product doesn’t hold up, we say so.
  • Editorial and advertising are handled separately. Our writers are not compensated based on how favorably they review a product or brand.

See our Advertising page for more on how we work with partners.

Health Content & Accuracy

Because wellness and health information can directly affect readers’ wellbeing, we hold this category of content to a higher bar:

  • Medical and health-related claims are sourced to credible bodies (peer-reviewed studies, recognized health organizations, or named clinical professionals) wherever possible.
  • Our editors with clinical backgrounds (Dr. Elena Marsh, Dr. Renata Silva) clearly distinguish between their professional/clinical knowledge and their personal opinions in their writing.
  • None of our content is intended to replace professional medical advice. See our full Medical Disclaimer for details.

Corrections Policy

We aim to be accurate, but mistakes happen. If you believe something we’ve published is inaccurate, outdated, or needs correction:

  1. Email us at hello@wellnessnewspaper.com with the article title, URL, and a description of the issue.
  2. We’ll review the claim against its original source (or seek a new one if needed).
  3. If a correction is warranted, we’ll update the article and note the correction where appropriate. For significant factual errors, we’ll add a visible correction note to the piece.

We take correction requests seriously and aim to respond within a reasonable timeframe.

Editorial Independence

Wellness Newspaper is published under the Hometown Publications Network and supported by Content Spots for advertising and business partnerships. Business and advertising relationships are kept separate from editorial decision-making — our editors decide what to cover and what to say about it based on their own judgment and expertise, not based on advertiser interests.
